How to choose Baby clothes for infants aged 0-1 years?
Baby clothes must be bought to fit properly. Adults often say that if you buy clothes a little bigger, you can still wear them next year. But if you buy clothes a little bigger, they will not only be uncomfortable to wear now, but they may also be too big or too small when you wear them next year.
1. Once the child can crawl and walk, try to choose a separate body.
When I was doing my research, everyone recommended onesies, but in practice, it’s okay for younger babies to wear separates. For older babies, it’s best to choose separates, such as when they wet their pants, so it’s easier to change them without having to change the whole outfit.
2. Light-colored baby clothes are recommended.
When a baby is first born, their face will be reddish and dark, so wearing light-colored clothes will make them look fresher. As the baby grows older, you can choose more suitable baby clothes colors.
3. Buying a coat is not recommended.
Many beautiful coats are available in winter as baby clothes, and some are even made into matching parent-child outfits. However, coats are very impractical for young children (under 10 years old), as they are neither warm nor restrict the child’s movement, and they are also quite expensive.
4. Purchase baby clothes according to your own circumstances.
Every mother wants to give her baby the best, but clothing prices vary widely. While expensive clothes are certainly stylish and comfortable, there are also good quality items at lower prices. Grandmothers and grandmothers often find good quality clothes at reasonable prices in children’s clothing stores.
5. Quantity of baby clothes
Buying clothes for babies is often not a rational decision; we can’t resist buying whatever looks cute or appealing, and sometimes we end up buying clothes that are never worn. Because the weather is constantly changing and babies are constantly growing, from a practical and cost-effectiveness perspective, it’s best to have about 5 sets of clothes for summer, 3 sets of outerwear, and 3-5 sets of innerwear for winter. Don’t buy too many, or your closet might not be able to hold them all.
6. What to do with clothes given by relatives?
Clothes given by relatives are usually pre-selected, so they are generally not too old. However, there may be some discrepancies in size and style. You can choose a few suitable pieces to wear and put away the others that don’t fit.
7. About sleeping bags
Sleeping bags are an essential piece of clothing for babies. I’ve previously bought Japanese mushroom-shaped sleeping bags and Littletiny ‘s temperature-regulating sleeping bags; they’re good, but expensive, and basically only last one season. Later, I also bought cheaper sleeping bags like Goodbaby’s gauze sleeping bags and a small brand’s coral fleece sleeping bag , which only cost a few dozen yuan. They were indeed lacking in details and construction, but the effects were quite good, and they were used frequently.
For summer sleeping bags, a single-layer gauze sleeping bag is sufficient. The mushroom-shaped sleeping bag has six layers of gauze, which might make the baby too hot and sweaty in the summer. The mushroom-shaped sleeping bag can be used in spring and summer, as well as between summer and autumn. For winter sleeping bags, I have only used Littletiny so far, which is very good and worth buying if your budget allows, although I personally feel that it may not be warm enough. The coral fleece sleeping bag on Taobao, the double-layered kind, is fine for winter in the south, and the baby won’t get cold even if they toss and turn.
8 Other accessories
Hats are essential for babies, whether for blocking the wind or sun, but you must buy them according to their head circumference or try them on in a physical store.
For younger babies, two or three pairs of socks are enough for changing. Once they start crawling, they like to pull on their socks, and with more frequent washing, they tend to get lost (just like adults). Therefore, I recommend stocking up on five pairs. Light colors are preferable, as they’ll match the socks better with shoes. (Our baby’s orange socks make him look like he’s going to plant rice seedlings.)
Hair clips can greatly enhance a girl’s cuteness. There are many hair clips available online, with quality varying depending on the price. However, baby hair clips are relatively easy to lose, so there are also those that come in boxes of a dozen or so, which are reasonably priced and of good quality.
